President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday effected a minor cabinet reshuffle with the Minister of State, Niger Delta Affairs, Hajia Zainab Kuchi moving to the Ministry of Power as Minister of State.
The former Minister of State for Power, Mr. Darius Dickson Ishaku was moved to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs as Minister of State.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, who briefed journalists alongside Minister of Works, communication minister, and minister of state, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide, explained that the swapping of positions by Kuchi and Darius was to “strengthen the power sector and continue to raise the level of performance and meet the expectation of Nigerians.”
Ishaku took over the running of the Ministry of Power when the former minister, Prof. Barth Nnaji resigned last August over allegations of conflict of interest.
