The branch chairman of the Road Transport Employers of Nigeria (RTEAN), Ondo town, Ebenezer Adedeji, has been reportedly stabbed to death by a motorcyclist over N100 union receipt dispute.
According to the report, the victim had waded into an argument between the motorcyclist who refused to pay N100 for ticket and other union members, when the motorcyclist abandoned his bike, headed to his house for the matchet which he eventually used to kill Adedeji.
The policemen who arrived the scene saved the Okada rider from being lynched while the deceased was said to have died on his way to the hospital.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the station, David Ehighale, confirmed the incident adding that the suspect had been transferred to state CID Homicide Section at the Command Headquarters in Akure.
